I'm here in Houston in the throes of Ike--what an adventure!--and I'm borrowing a computer for a few minutes tonight since I've had no power for a few days now. So this note will be quick, just letting you know that I'm heading to Nashville for the Americana Music Association Conference and really looking forward to the trip and playing the Nashville Palace Friday evening for the Gram Parsons Petition Project that I told you about in my last newsletter. A very passionate organization of music industry people will deliver a petition to induct Gram Parsons into the Country Music Hall of Fame on September 19, 35 years after Gram's death, and I'm surely glad that they invited me to perform for this gala event. I know that it will be a lot of fun. And a change of scenery will be NICE about now! I posted a picture of me (and crew) "hunkering down" at the house, all borded up before Ike blew through.
