Dear Everyone,
I’m reminded again how life takes such unexpected twists and turns. Today—one of the most beautiful of all days in East Texas—my dear Gleason passed quickly and unexpectedly from this world, as he frolicked through the glittering paths of the Piney Woods where he enjoyed many adventures and discoveries that could be known only to one so open and in touch with nature and its mysteries. I will miss him each day, and all of the times that we shared. It is hard to explain this feeling to one who has never loved a dog. But if you have, I’m sure that you know. As they say, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved—especially one so perpetually loyal, trusting, and innocent. I’ve posted a picture of me, “hunkering down” for Hurricane Ike here in Houston in 2008, along with “Lord Gleason,” Princess Lilly, Elmer BraveHeart, and my beloved “Little Joe,” who preceded his brother, Gleason, by only nine months: www.glennabell.com
(There is some new music, too. A new release. I'm quite excited about it, but that will have to wait.)
I hope that you will take a moment to remember another gentle soul today.
Y’all come.
