Hey, Everybody!  Just a quick note to let you know that I'll be the featured guest tonight in this classic Texas singer-songwriter showcase hosted by Jimmy Pizzitola on Tuesday evenings in one of Houston's most historic venues, La Carafe, located on Market Square in the heart of the downtown business/theater district:

Convenient, free street parking after 6 p.m.

Nice outdoor seating/smoking tables facing scenic Market Square.

Good wines and beers.  Friendly, down-to earth-service.

Casual but classy.

Possibly haunted.

Best classic jukebox in town between live sets!

Bring cash.  Their original, antique cash register predates plastic!

I’m really looking forward to getting back to NYC!  Caffe Vivaldi is my favorite place to play in Greenwich Village—independently-owned for decades by a hands-on, on-premises proprietor who actually does the booking himself and is quite a wonderful person to know in New York.  Al Pacino and Woody Allen movies have been filmed here, Steve Earle is reported to live nearby, and there is a full line up of music every night, as well as a full bar, and a full dinner menu, which impresses me as rather “gourmet.”

“Caffe Vivaldi exudes an old-world European languor-a small irony, since it was opened in the ’80s by an industrious emigre from Pakistan. A weathered bench runs along one wall; the wall opposite, cluttered with somber black-and-white portraits of classical composers, is recognizable from films by Al Pacino and Woody Allen.  For the past decade or so, the cafe has featured live music nightly: jazz, classical or folk, depending on the night.” –JazzTimes

It’s a supper show, CD signing and hour-long performance, and I would love to see you there.  I'll be accompanied by two talented NYC musicians who've become my NYC go-to band, Jeff Eyrich on upright bass and Steve Kirkman on electric guitar.   This will be a delightful evening, so mark it on your calendar, tell all your friends, AND

Y’all come!
