I am busy getting ready to release my new album, Face This World, to about 170 radio stations this month and planning a release party at my favorite music venue in Houston, Cosmos Cafe where I will be opening for Two Tons of Steel at 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2005. Two Tons (at www.twotons.com) is a high-energy band with a country/rockabilly sound and excellent musicianship. They are about to tour in Europe, so catch them while you can. And with its old-timey VFW hall feel, the eighty-some-odd year old building that houses Cosmos is the ideal location for Two Tons and for my brand of roots music as well. It is located at 69 Heights Blvd (at Washington Ave) and has truly delicious food (with a complete lunch and dinner menu), as well as a full bar with drink specials and a dance floor.
