Khon’s wine and coffee bar is my favorite venue in trendy Midtown, Houston—intimate casual atmosphere, artist-owned, staffed by familiar faces from the Houston theater and art scene, featuring excellent classic jazz on Sunday evenings, amongst a weekly lineup of up-and-coming local bands. Saturday night (February 8), I’ll be there with Texan songwriter, Jimmy Pizzitola, who also hosts the Tuesday night songwriter showcases at another favorite Houston venue, historic La Carafe, in the heart of downtown.
