POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Happy Return to the Legendary Old Quarter
The Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe, 413 20th Street, Galveston, Texas
The last time that I played Wrecks Bell's legendary folk venue in the breezy, coastal town of Galveston, Texas was about five years ago when I was just getting started. I was thrilled to open for Hayes Carll and then to be part of the annual Townes Van Zandt tribute on New Year's Day, when singer songwriters from far and wide show up to pay respects and play a favorite Townes tune or two. Wrecks and Townes were good friends and musical collaborators. Wrecks liked my performance--he gave me a t-shirt and a compliment. That meant a lot, coming from someone with his musical background, for he's seen a great deal of talent come through the Old Quarter through the years. I'll be sharing the evening with someone yet to be booked. I will post more details as soon as I hear. I highly recommend this show. Everybody should go the Old Quarter at least once in a lifetime. Sadly, these kind of old-school listening rooms are a dying breed. Y'all come!
