Shakin' It with Shake Russell! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I just got a very special invitation from someone whose song writing I have admired since I was a teenager: the legendary Shake Russell! It will be a song swap at the Mucky Duck, the first in a series that Shake will be hosting at this landmark folk/acoustic venue, and besides Shake and me, there will be Kelly McGuire, "an award-winning Texas singer songwriter." Put this one on your calendar of not-to-be-missed shows in Houston. In case you didn't know, Shake wrote "Deep in the West," which was recorded by Waylon Jennings and his wife, Jessi Colter. He also wrote another one of my favorites, "You've Got a Lover," which Ricky Skaggs took to the top of the Country Music Chart in the 1980s. And he has written A LOT more great songs. A genuine troubadour. I am honored, and I hope that you will be there if you can. Y'all come!
