This show is quickly evolving into a once-a-month event. So far I've hosted two of my favorite Sugar Hill Studios recording artists, Ray Younkin and Hank Schyma of the Southern Backtones. This time, I'll share the stage with yet another talented Sugar Hill veteran, Chris Knudson. What I like most about this gig is its intimate, informal feel--we're just having fun but offering up some first-class entertainment in the meantime. There's lots of audience interaction and special guests to boot, including "KrissAnn" who's been opening the evening with her original brand of roots music straight from the backwoods of Mississipi, joined by Rick Erlich of the popular British Invasion rock band, The Dreambreakers, plus occasional appearances by Chris Cook on his washboard and Mr. Orito from Japan delivering such Americana favorites as "Home On The Range," "You Are My Sunshine," and "Davy Crockett."
Cosmos is a magical venue in the historic Houston Heights, featuring a full-service bar and restaurant with everything from Houston Press award-winning burgers to grilled tuna over a bed of spring salad to delicious appetizers such as their famous goat cheese terrine. Independently owned, the proprieter is an entertainer by his own right, who's known for regaling customers at the bar with his stories of the days he played football on the Notre Dame National Championship team with Joe Montana. You can't beat this cast of characters, folks. There's never a dull moment at the Glenna Bell Hot Guys Singer-Songwriter Showcase. Y'all come!
