I'm excited about playing again at this one-of-a-kind venue of good friends' Dawn Fudge and David O'Dea. The Last Concert Cafe is a Houston landmark where Carolyn Wonderland, among many others, cut her musical teeth.
The Cafe is located in Houston's historical downtown warehouse district and offers great Mexican food that's not just your run-of-the-mill taqueria fare, plus a full bar and a magical outdoor patio/stage.
And it will be a treat to do this show with Darrin Kobetich, a guitarist from the Dallas/Fort Worth area who's really making a splash. Here's a description of Darrin's style, taken from his myspace page: "I’ve been told quite often, that my music is similar to that of Jimmy Page’s acoustic playing and Leo Kottke’s finger style / slide work. The discovery of various artists, has been a huge influence on my writing, in recent years. A rekindled interest in Bluegrass, a love for outdoor festivals and nature itself, provide inspiration as well. You’ll also hear some Indian / middle-eastern tones, along with some celtic, spanish, delta blues sprinkled in the mix." According to Last Concert booking pro, Lonne Martinec, Darrin is a performer you won't forget, so y'all come. I promise you'll be entertained.
