Glenna's Music Featured on KPFT Talk Show

Hey, Everybody!

I was pleasantly surprised to find an email in my inbox this afternoon, letting me know that a song of mine will be featured this evening on KPFT FM 90.1 here in Houston.  If you are in the area, you can listen “on the dial,” and everyone else can tune in at http://kpft.org/

The show is called “Open Journal” and is hosted by KPFT’s former, long-time general manager, Duane Bradley.  It showcases “interviews, local music, a local calendar and conversation.”  I am really looking forward to it!

Oh, and the song is called “La Casa Que Yo Amo” (“This House I Love”) from my album, The Road Less Traveled.  Don’t worry if you don’t know Spanish—most of the lyrics are in English—and the song is very special to me because it is about my beloved home here at the edge of downtown Houston and the situation that people like me find ourselves in as the land developers in league with “big business” and our civic leaders are literally changing the face of the nation’s inner city neighborhoods in the best interest of so-called “progress.”

I hope that you will listen this evening if you can.  The show will also be archived at the link, above, for a couple of months.

Also, I want to take a minute to let people in the Houston area know that the 3rd Tuesday La Carafe performances are on hold while we try to raise some money to help the venue pay for fees that are necessary in order to get square with the PRO’s.  If you feel like helping preserve authentic Texas music at the oldest bar in Houston with a historical marker on the brick wall out front to prove how bona fide it truly is, please send any ideas or suggestions that you may have.

In the meantime, I wish everyone everywhere a fabulous start to another New Year.  Just think of all the good times we’ll have in store, just around the bend.

Y’all come!
